COMMISSIONS

📯📯📯

SHORTLY:

I have a full-time day job and many projects to keep up with, so I have to be a dick about commissions. There are many cheaper and better artists out there, and I encourage you to find them. I will only do a commission if I like the idea and I will get paid very well for it. $400 minimum, $150 if you can sell me on why your idea is something I would conceivably do myself. Yes, these terms are meant to make you go somewhere else. If you’re not deterred, read on.

LONGLY:

1) As a baseline, all of my images will always include a detailed background. Expressive descriptions of your character/setting/environment/idea help contribute to what that background looks like. The more wacky/surreal/challenging of a request you have, the higher the likelihood that I’m going to accept the commission, and throw a lot of extra love into it.

2) 50% of the agreed upon price is due upfront after I do a quick n’ sloppy digital mockup just to get the general positioning/scale/angle of your request down, then the other 50% at delivery. For a standard picture with one character, that’s going to be $200, then another $200 at completion, for a total of $400. The base price includes two characters, and I will increase the price by $100 for each additional character. If you’re “selling me” on something I would already do (Anything involving your OC is not in this category. Popular figures in reality or fiction are fine, of course) then it’s a flat rate of $150, making that two payments of $75.

3) I’m going to make it the way I want it. I will do my best to match references you give me and follow advice insofar as the overall theme/action/characters in the image, but I will also put my own spin on the work to make it fit with my general style. I encourage you to browse my portfolio page for examples, if you’d like to specify a way I should approach depicting your chosen subject. I will also do animated GIFs and short animations, but the complexity of those jobs demands a separate commission negotiation that this page can’t easily summarize.

4) Whatever I make for you, I’m posting it on my public platforms. Whether or not I specify it was a commission or mention you is your decision.

If you don’t like these terms, please find another artist who will work for less and who needs the money more; I demand a good amount of latitude and incentive to consider taking on a commission, because I have very limited time, and I care too much about the final product and how it reflects on me to half-ass it. I reserve the right to refuse a commission for any reason. You should only commission me if you understand all this.

If you’re still here and determined to do this… Shoot me an e-mail at f……@gmail.com. Include information about what you want – I may outright refuse, but I assure you, despite the crabby demeanor in this commission sheet, I don’t bite. From the e-mail, we can further discuss via phone/text/discord/twitter. I will update you weekly on progress, but do keep in mind it takes at least a 6-8 weeks to produce images as seen below. I currently only accept payments through PayPal.

Final note: I will not do a commissioned acrylic painting unless you’re willing to pay off my mortgage.
